Today’s SOAP Devotional
S - SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 41:10 NLT
"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
O - OBSERVATION:
What’s really incredible about this verse is that in the passages right before it, we’re reminded of God’s power and how He’s in control of everything. He’s not just watching from a distance—He’s the one running the show and holding everything together!
A - APPLICATION:
When we understand who’s really in our corner—God, the one who controls the seas and placed the stars in the sky—all of our worries start to lose their hold. Our fears, often tied to our need for control, start to fade as we remember He’s got it covered. If we truly fear God (understanding His might, awe, and love in contrast to our own sin and feebleness), there’s no room left for the smaller fears that try to overwhelm us.
P - PRAYER:
Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You. Teach us to trust You more than we fear anything else. You’re our protector, our provider, and the one who gives us everything we need each day. Amen.
What is a SOAP?
For each day of Bible reading, we do a SOAP devotional to go deeper into the word of God. We always provide an example SOAP from one of our authors, but we highly encourage you to do your own SOAP with today’s reading. God wants to speak to you personally, and will highlight a passage of today’s reading that’s just for you.
Here’s how it works:
S – SCRIPTURE
Physically write out the Bible verse
You’ll be amazed at what God will reveal to you when you
slow down to write or meditate on what you are reading!
O – OBSERVATION
What do you see in the verses you’re reading?
Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you? What is the main lesson or theme?
A – APPLICATION
When God’s Word becomes personal
What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my life? Are there any changes I need to make?
P – PRAYER
Pray God’s Word back to Him
If He has revealed something to you during this time in His
Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life. Take time to thank Him for His goodness in your life.
We hope that you took one step further in your walk with Jesus today. 🙏
