🙏 SPECIAL EASTER DEVOTIONAL
He Is Risen – And So Are You
Why the Resurrection Changes Everything
Let’s be honest—Easter has become a bit too tame.
Pastel colors. Polished sermons. Clean tombs.
But the original resurrection morning wasn’t clean.
It was chaotic, earth-shaking, and wildly impossible.
Jesus didn’t just wake up.
He exploded out of death.
He broke the spine of the grave.
He walked out of His own tomb.
And in doing so, He rewrote the story of the entire cosmos—and your life.
What really happened that morning?
Mary Magdalene came to the tomb expecting a body.
Instead, she met the risen King.
And everything changed.
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He is risen.”
— Luke 24:5-6
This isn’t metaphor. This isn’t myth.
This is history, wrapped in glory.
Jesus really rose, in a physical body, never to die again.
And that resurrection is not just His story—it’s yours.
The Resurrection Means…
1. Death is defeated.
This is not just a comfort at funerals. It’s a revolutionary reality.
Jesus didn’t cheat death.
He conquered it.
He took on the full weight of the curse—and broke it from the inside out.
The tomb became a womb. The end became a beginning.
“Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:20
2. Your past is buried.
When Jesus walked out of the tomb, your old life didn’t follow Him.
The shame. The sin. The regrets.
They stayed in the grave.
Your past no longer defines you—His resurrection does.
“We were buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that… we too may live a new life.”
— Romans 6:4
3. You’re already living in resurrection.
Easter isn’t just about what happens after you die.
It’s about the new life you have right now.
If you’re in Christ, resurrection isn’t just your future—it’s your present.
You are not who you used to be.
You are not stuck.
You are not dead inside.
You are alive.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
4. There’s hope in every heartbreak.
The empty tomb means that no loss is final.
Every shattered thing will be restored.
Every buried dream can be reborn.
Even the darkest night is a setup for sunrise.
Resurrection isn’t the exception in God’s kingdom—it’s the rule.
He brings dead things to life.
It’s what He does.
So What Now?
You don’t have to live like it’s still Friday.
You don’t have to walk through life like Jesus is still in the tomb.
He is alive. And that means:
Your prayers matter.
Your wounds can heal.
Your purpose is not over.
Your King is on the move.
The resurrection isn’t just something we celebrate.
It’s something we embody.
Let the world see the risen Christ—in you.
Easter is your wake-up call.
It’s the reminder that Sunday came.
The stone rolled away.
Death lost its sting.
And Jesus still speaks your name like He did to Mary in the garden.
He’s alive.
And now so are you.
Scripture to meditate on:
Luke 24
John 20
Romans 6:4–11
1 Corinthians 15
Revelation 1:18
Reflect and Respond:
Where have you been living like it’s still Friday?
What “dead” area of your life needs resurrection power today?
Who around you needs to hear the hope of the risen Jesus?
Don’t just say “He is risen.”
Live like it’s true.
What is a SOAP?
For each day of Bible reading, we do a SOAP devotional to go deeper into the word of God. We always provide an example SOAP from one of our authors, but we highly encourage you to do your own SOAP with today’s reading. God wants to speak to you personally, and will highlight a passage of today’s reading that’s just for you.
Here’s how it works:
S – SCRIPTURE
Physically write out the Bible verse
You’ll be amazed at what God will reveal to you when you
slow down to write or meditate on what you are reading!
O – OBSERVATION
What do you see in the verses you’re reading?
Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you? What is the main lesson or theme?
A – APPLICATION
When God’s Word becomes personal
What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my life? Are there any changes I need to make?
P – PRAYER
Pray God’s Word back to Him
If He has revealed something to you during this time in His
Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life. Take time to thank Him for His goodness in your life.
